Alarmed by the impact of deepening cracks on party unity, BJP national leaders have urged two of their most influential figures from Karnataka , Former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and National General Secretary B.L. Santhosh to meet and resolve the ongoing strife.
Internal tirade within the party has reached a boiling point. Factionalism between state party chief B.Y. Vijayendra and Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, backed by Ramesh Jarkiholi, is running deep.

Given the political complications in Karnataka, the top leadership believes this issue is best handled by leaders familiar with the state and its leaders. Hence, Yediyurappa and Santhosh have been tasked to sort the issue internally.
Both leaders wield considerable influence, but their history of a cold war has frequently drawn attention in political circles. Their relationship, swinging between cautious cooperation and underlying tension, makes any meeting between them a subject of speculation.
Whether this latest directive will restore discipline among party members remains to be seen.
Meanwhile, BJP leader C.T. Ravi is reportedly irked by Vijayendra’s growing proximity to Congress leader and Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar. This tension is further fueled by allegations from Congress Cabinet Minister Lakshmi Hebbalkar, who accused Ravi of using defamatory language against her.
Hebbalkar’s close association with Shivakumar adds another layer of intrigue.
Ravi, once a vocal critic of Congress and its alleged MUDA scam, has noticeably toned down his rhetoric. Observers suggest he may prefer Chief Minister Siddaramaiah retaining power over the possibility of Shivakumar ascending the political ladder. This indeed appears to be a calculated silence.
Adding to the chaos is Sriramulu’s simmering resentment over his treatment at the recent core committee meeting.
With BJP national leaders insisting on internal resolution and discouraging public spats, all eyes are now on Yediyurappa and Santhosh as they the see the whole episode as a proxy war between these two. Will their meeting smooth over Karnataka BJP’s rifts, or will it deepen the unrest?
