Kishore Makwana graces Dalit Sex Workers’ upliftment programme in Mysore

National Schedule Caste Commission Chairman Kishore Makwana inaugurated a rarest of programmes for Dalit sex workers in Mysore city on Saturday.

Speaking to a gathering of around one thousand scheduled caste sex workers , Kishore Makwana said that he was elated and blessed to be in the land of Mysore where the powerful Goddess Chamundeshwari resides and the other power is the women sitting here .

Praising Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his initiative to secure the the women in distress , he urged the sex workers to utilise the benefits of the schemes implemented by the government . Kishore
Makwana also said these sex workers will be benefited of insurance through Ayushman schemes , Gruha Laxmi Yojana across the country .

This programme was organised by Vasuki , Dr Sundar of Ashodaya Samiti with the support of Laxmi , the programme Co- Ordinator, and Vibha , the legal advisor of the organisation . This is a programme which will be implemented across country to benefit the SC sex workers.

Mehul Gandhi , The National programme coordinator who was felicitated for his contributions and effort towards these programmes , speaking to NDC , Mehul Gandhi said ‘’ Before BJP ruled , the ratio of HIV infected people amongst the sex workers were 25/ 100 , which drastically dropped to the ratio of 2/100 . The Congress based NGOs never wanted to achieve these results as more the HIV infected , more the money they would get . Where as the Narendra Modi government provided these schemes to beneficiaries directly through their personal accounts with all the other schemes like ‘ Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bhim Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana, Laadli Bahen Yojana , Atal Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Vishwakarma Yojayana, Post office health insurance , including Ayushman schemes and Gurha Laxmi Yojana schemes which Kishore Makhwana had mentioned .
