Varun Gandhi likely to be replaced by Jitin Prasad in Pilibhit. May join congress

Incumbent Loksabha Member of Pilibhit constituency Varun Gandhi is likely to be replaced by Jitin Prasad as a BJP candidate Sources speaking to NDC said Varun may not get a ticket as he has strained his relationship with the BJP top brass for the past four years. Varun had opposed a few policies of his own party, taking against the top leadership in DelhiOver the past 28 years, Varun Gandhi and his mother, Maneka Gandhi, have solidified their grip in Pilibhit Loksabha constituency. Maneka Gandhi, the younger daughter-in-law of former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, entered the political fray as a Janata Dal candidate from the Pilibhit battleground in 1989 and won against Congress candidate Banu Pratap Singh.Since then, both mother and son have had a solid hold in the constituency to date .Varun Gandhi, contrstrd for the first time in 2009 and won by a huge margin of 4.19 lakh votes .He subsequently won all the loksabha elections after his debut in 2009. Things seem very different now as Varun ‘s name has still not being announced , tomorrow being the first day of nominations of loksabha candidates. Congress certainly will be happy if Varun Gandhi joins their party as it will be a shot in the arm for Congress party, which is at the death knell in Uttar Pradesh politics.
