Karnataka Elephant kills man in Kerala, issue erupts in Karnataka assembly over allocation of compensation

Bengaluru: The opposition BJP and JD(S) on Tuesday slammed the Congress government for “illegally allocating” Rs 15 lakh to the kin of a Kerala man who was killed by an elephant from Karnataka domicile . The BJP said the congress government is misusing taxpayers’ money to favour their political boss Rahul Gandhi .
B Y Vijayendra , Karnataka state president of BJP condemned this decision of the government government, He criticised the government for giving compensation of Rs 2,000 per hectare, amid crippling drought in Karnataka.”The Karnataka is pleasing Rahul gandhi , who happens to be the MP of Wayanad where this incident happened. The government is giving Rs 15 lakh to the kin of the man killed by the elephant is highly condemnable” he said .

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly R Ashoka hit out at state Forest Minister Eshwar Khandre for utilising Karnataka taxpayers’ money like Congress ‘ property. He dared the state party leaders to ‘Ask Boldly’ to the party high command that it is My Tax, My Right.

Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy also joined the BJP chorus against the Congress government alleging that it gave Rs 15 lakh to the man killed in Wayanad but only Rs five lakh to those who died in Karnataka due to elephant attacks.
