Mumbai: Bollywood filmmaker Mohit Suri’s latest romantic drama Saiyaara, featuring debutant Ahaan Panday and rising star Aneet Padda, is proving unstoppable at the box office. After a strong first week, the film has now achieved another landmark by surpassing Aamir Khan’s Dangal in its second weekend collections.

With an impressive ₹75.50 crore haul over its second weekend, Saiyaara has climbed to the 8th position among the highest second weekend grossers of all time, edging past Dangal’s ₹73.70 crore and positioning itself just behind Baahubali 2: The Conclusion (₹80.75 crore).

Strong Word-of-Mouth Fuels Growth

From its very first day, Saiyaara resonated with audiences thanks to its youthful storyline, heartfelt music, and relatable performances. Its opening weekend set a solid foundation, but what truly stands out is how the film held its ground through weekdays—an area where many releases tend to stumble.

The film’s second Friday witnessed robust advance bookings, driven by glowing audience reviews and repeat viewership from younger demographics, particularly in metropolitan cities and Tier-2 markets. This consistent momentum highlights the film’s emotional connect with viewers.

A Breakthrough for Fresh Faces

The film’s success is not just a milestone for director Mohit Suri but also for its lead pair. Ahaan Panday’s debut performance has been widely praised, while Aneet Padda’s portrayal has cemented her place as one of Bollywood’s promising new talents. The film’s music, which has topped streaming charts, has further amplified its appeal.

Industry analysts see Saiyaara’s performance as proof that original love stories with fresh casting can still thrive in a market dominated by franchises and action blockbusters.

What’s Next for Saiyaara?

As Saiyaara heads into its third week, the big question is whether it can maintain its momentum and climb even higher on the all-time charts. Regardless of where it lands next, its box office run has already positioned it as one of 2025’s biggest cinematic success stories.
