Jama Masjid Street Improvement Plan Gets Fresh Push by PWD

In the pipeline for almost two decades, the Jama Masjid street improvement plan has received a fresh push as Public Works Department (PWD) minister Parvesh Verma has given a fresh push to the Jama Masjid street improvement plan which was in the pipeline for two decades. Verma has directed the concerned officials to take up the long-pending road repair work on the narrow and congested Chandni Chowk-Jama Masjid stretch.

Major works in this project will include scrapping off the top layer and recarpeting with bitumen, possible road widening, horticulture, and adding basic heritage elements.

Verma has given July end as the deadline for completion of this project .He has stressed on the drainage improvement.

PWD has floated fresh tenders for this project which has been hold for several years due to changes in governments and tenders .
