Delhi Accident: Scooter Rider Dies After Falling into Drain Following Collision with Unknown Vehicle in Swaroop Nagar

In a tragic incident on Saturday afternoon, a scooter rider lost his life after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Swaroop Nagar area of Delhi. The collision caused the rider to fall into a roadside drain.

Upon receiving information about the incident, police and locals rushed the victim to Babu Jagjivan Ram Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The deceased was identified as Mukesh Vishwakarma, a resident of the Sindhi Colony. He was employed at a company in Sonipat and was returning home at the time of the accident.

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer North District), Harsh V. Swami, the accident took place in front of the Valentine Farm House in Swaroop Nagar. A speeding vehicle rammed into Mukesh’s scooter, causing him to lose control and fall into a nearby drain.

Eyewitnesses stated that the impact was severe and Mukesh sustained serious injuries from the fall. The drain, located alongside the service road, is reported to be approximately three feet wide and four feet deep.

Police have registered a case of death due to negligent driving and are reviewing CCTV footage from the surrounding area to identify the vehicle involved.
