Priyanka Gandhi accuses UP government of Phone tapping

Ndc Admin

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Sunday accused the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh of “tapping the phones of the Opposition”. Addressing women at ‘Mahila Shakti Samvaad’, Gandhi said, “What is a govt’s work? To develop, understand & find solutions of the problems of the public, & stop the atrocities, instead, this govt is tapping the phones of the Opposition.”
Today , Akhilesh Yadav had also alleged that the phones of the party’s office and members have been tapped by the UP government and CM Yogi Adityanath listens to the recordings every evening. He slammed BJP, saying that since the party is headed towards a defeat in the upcoming elections, it is using central agencies like I-T, ED and CBI to attack its opponents. “Till now, these agencies were for used to remove governments in power, now they are using it to ensure SP doesn’t come to power,” he said at a press conference.

This comes a day after the Income Tax (I-T) department conducted searches in premises of close aides of Yadav. “Aapne chaapa maarke ye bataa diya hain ki samajwadi log hi aarhe hain. (Your searches have proved that SP people will come to power)”, Yadav said.

Priyanka Gandhi addressed the ‘Mahila Shakti Samvad’ in Rae Bareli on Sunday. Earlier this month, she launched the party’s manifesto for women for the upcoming UP Assembly polls, making a slew of promises including 40 per cent reservation for women in government jobs if her party is voted to power.
