‘Microphone Makes Stupidity Louder’: Trisha Krishnan Breaks Silence Amid Vijay Relationship Rumors

In a rare and fiery move, South Indian superstar Trisha Krishnan has finally addressed the whirlwind of speculation surrounding her personal life. The actress, who has been the subject of intense media scrutiny following a high-profile public appearance with actor-politician Thalapathy Vijay, took to social media to shut down “crude” commentary with a sharp, viral retort.

The Statement That Shook the Industry

Without naming names, Trisha posted a scathing statement on her X (formerly Twitter) account on Sunday evening. The post was a direct response to recent remarks made by filmmaker R. Parthiban at an awards ceremony, where he took a dig at her alleged relationship with Vijay.
“I was informed by the organisers of a recent event that my name and picture were included at the last minute at the request of an individual conveyed through his assistant,” Trisha wrote.

She followed up with a quote that has now become a rallying cry for her fans: “A microphone doesn’t make a comment intelligent or humorous. It just makes stupidity louder. Crude words without knowledge say more about the speaker than the person they’re aimed at.”

The Incident: What Sparked the Fire?

The controversy ignited during the Galatta Pink Golden Queen Awards. When a photo of Trisha appeared on the screen, R. Parthiban—her co-star from Ponniyin Selvan—made a pun on her character, Kundhavai. Referring to the recent viral videos of Trisha and Vijay attending a wedding together, Parthiban suggested that “this Kundhavai should be made to sit at home for a few days” to avoid creating “trouble.”

The comment was widely perceived as sexist and an unnecessary intrusion into the actress’s private life, especially given the sensitive timing of Vijay’s ongoing legal separation from his wife, Sangeetha Sornalingam.

Vijay and Trisha: Why the Rumors Are Peaking

The speculation reached a fever pitch last week when Vijay and Trisha were spotted arriving together at the wedding reception of producer Kalpathi S. Suresh’s son in Chennai.

• Public Appearance: The duo walked in together, posed for photos with the newlyweds, and exited the venue at the same time.

• The Divorce Context: This outing occurred just days after reports surfaced that Sangeetha had filed for divorce in a Chennai court, citing “mental cruelty” and alleging an extramarital association.

• The Bodyguard’s Hint: Adding fuel to the fire, Vijay’s bodyguard, Aroon Suresh, had posted a cryptic Instagram story shortly before the wedding, urging fans to “rise above all rumors” while using a song from the duo’s 2004 hit film Ghilli.

Parthiban Issues an Apology

Following Trisha’s powerful “stupidity louder” post, R. Parthiban quickly moved to de-escalate the situation. On Monday, he issued a public apology on X, stating, “What happened has gone all wrong… There’s no way but to regret!”

While Trisha has not explicitly confirmed or denied the nature of her bond with Vijay, her message remains clear: she will no longer tolerate the “crude” public dissection of her character under the guise of humor.
