Chirag Paswan Slams Bihar Government Over Rising Crime, Cites Recent Ambulance Assault Case

Patna | New Delhi Chronicle Staff Report

Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader and National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partner Chirag Paswan has delivered a sharp critique of the Nitish Kumar-led Bihar government, expressing concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in the state.

Speaking to the media on Saturday, Paswan said he was “deeply saddened” to be part of a ruling alliance where crime, in his words, appears to be spiraling out of control. “If crime continues unchecked, the safety and future of Bihar’s people are in serious jeopardy,” he warned.

His remarks came in the wake of a disturbing incident that sparked outrage across the state—a woman, reportedly unconscious after collapsing during a Home Guard recruitment test, was allegedly sexually assaulted in an ambulance by its driver and a medical technician.

Paswan questioned the competence and intent of the state administration, stating, “Either the system is protecting criminals, covering up such acts, or it has simply failed to function.”

The incident has intensified public scrutiny of the JD(U)-led state government, which shares power with the BJP and LJP(RV) under the NDA umbrella. While the state police have launched an investigation, opposition voices and civil society groups have demanded urgent reforms to restore public trust.
