Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin underwent a minor cardiac procedure on Thursday at a private hospital in Chennai after experiencing dizziness, according to a statement from the hospital.
Medical officials have confirmed that the chief minister is recovering well and is likely to return to his regular responsibilities within the next two days.
Dr. Anil B.G., who oversees medical services at the hospital, stated that routine tests revealed irregularities in Mr. Stalin’s heart rhythm. A team of specialists, led by interventional cardiologist Dr. G. Sengottuvelu, recommended a therapeutic intervention, which was carried out earlier in the day.
A diagnostic angiogram performed as part of the evaluation showed no abnormalities, the hospital added.
