NDC DESK

Patna, July 12, 2025 :RJD leader and opposition face in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, convened a strategic six-hour meeting on Saturday, hosting leaders from all INDIA bloc parties at his residence in Patna. The session focused on seat-sharing arrangements, election coordination, and safeguarding the integrity of the electoral process.

Following the discussions, Tejashwi confirmed to the media, “Seat-sharing talks have officially begun, but I cannot divulge details until they are finalised”, urging patience as definitive arrangements are prepared  .

Key Takeaways from the Meeting

— Seat sharing negotiations underway: Parties including RJD, Congress, Left factions, and VIP shared their constituency priorities; a formal agreement is expected shortly.

— Formation of coordination bodies: Committees were formed to manage campaign logistics and ensure transparency during the Special Intensive Revision of electoral rolls (SIR) .

— Campaign strategy laid out: Plans include joint booth-level campaigning and shared banners and posters to solidify the bloc’s unity and public outreach  .

Tejashwi Launches Scathing Attack on Nitish Kumar

Tejashwi accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of copying flagship policies originally proposed by him. He claimed ideas such as the State Youth Commission and increases in old-age pensions were snapped up by the NDA government . He joked that his upcoming women’s stipend scheme, ‘Mai Bahin Samman Yojana’, would likely be mirrored as well.

He also slammed Bihar’s deteriorating law-and-order situation, accusing the government of allowing a return to jungle raj. Responding to even Chirag Paswan’s remarks on rising crime, Tejashwi retorted: “He should go ask the Centre why jungle raj is back in Bihar”.

Why It Matters

—Seat-sharing dynamics: With 243 seats at stake, early alliance alignment signals serious intent to challenge the incumbent NDA  .

— Electoral transparency concerns: SIR has become a flashpoint, and INDIA bloc leaders are keen on monitoring each phase closely.

Aggressive narrative-building: Tejashwi’s framing of Bihar’s issues’”policy poaching and lawlessness”is aimed at unifying opposition forces and galvanizing voters ahead of polls slated for October-November .
