State-Level Tennis Player Radhika Yadav Shot Dead by Father in Gurgaon

NDC DESK

Gurgaon, July 11 – In a shocking incident, 25-year-old Radhika Yadav, a state-level tennis player, was allegedly shot dead by her father at their home in Gurgaon’s Sushant Lok-II on Thursday morning.

According to police, the incident occurred around 10:30 a.m. when the accused, Deepak Yadav, reportedly opened fire on his daughter, hitting her three times. A total of five shots were fired. The victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Police officials confirmed that Deepak Yadav has been taken into custody, and the licensed revolver used in the crime has been recovered. Preliminary investigations suggest the motive behind the killing was a long-standing family dispute over Radhika’s decision to run a tennis academy.

“He had asked her several times to stop operating the academy, which he strongly disapproved of,” a police spokesperson said.

Based on a complaint filed by the deceased’s uncle — the brother of the accused — an FIR has been registered at Sector 56 police station under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code. The investigation is ongoing.
