Ashoknagar: An FIR has been filed against Madhya Pradesh Congress President Jitu Patwari for allegedly offering a bribe to a villager to make a false accusation. Police say Patwari attempted to coerce the villager into falsely claiming that he was forced to eat human excrement by a village official.
According to Ashoknagar Superintendent of Police Vineet Kumar Jain, Patwari allegedly asked Gajaraj Lodhi, a resident of Mungoli village, to make a fabricated allegation against the village sarpanch.
“Yesterday , Gajaraj Lodhi personally met the Ashoknagar Collector and stated that some Congress leaders had taken him to Orchha, where he was introduced to Jitu Patwari. There, Patwari allegedly offered him a bribe to falsely accuse the Mungoli village sarpanch of forcing him to eat human excreta”, SP Jain told ANI.
The police said a case was registered against Patwari after it was determined that Lodhi’s initial claim was false and made under pressure.
“Based on Lodhi’s statement, a case has been registered against Jitu Patwari and his associates under various sections of the Indian Penal Code”,said SP Jain.
Earlier, on Wednesday, Patwari had posted on X (formerly Twitter), addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and accusing the state government of lawlessness. “Prime Minister Ji, the state is sinking into complete anarchy under this Gundaraj. A youth from the Lodhi community was reportedly made to eat human excreta just for asking about his ration card. The accused are allegedly close to BJP MLA Brijendra Yadav, and no action is being taken due to political pressure’’,he wrote.
Patwari was referring to an earlier incident in which a tribal youth was publicly urinated upon, an event that had sparked widespread outrage and raised questions about law and order in the state.
