Houseful 5 : Sajid’s Comic Breaks Records, Opens with 24.35 Cr, Weekend Hits ₹ 87 Cr

NDC Entertainment Desk

Whether you love it or not, Housefull 5 has done what very few comedy films have managed in recent years, it’s a massive box office hit.

On Day 1, it earned a strong ₹24.35 crore, making it the biggest non-holiday opening for an Indian comedy. That’s more than what Housefull 4, Sky Force, or Kesari 2 made on their first day.

Thanks to a festive Saturday, the film collected ₹31 crore on Day 2. By Sunday, it added another ₹32 crore, bringing the weekend total to a whopping ₹87 crore.

Instagram is buzzing, fans are thrilled, and producer Sajid Nadiadwala is being praised for understanding what the audience wants and maybe he really does.

The film is packed with royal curses, lookalikes, and crazy confusion. It follows the same Housefull formula, loud, flashy, and full of madness. Akshay Kumar leads the show, with Riteish Deshmukh, Johnny Lever, and Chunky Pandey adding to the chaos. The story? Let’s just say you watch it more for the fun than the plot.

Critics might call it silly and over-the-top, but audiences clearly love it. As trade analyst Taran Adarsh put it: Housefull is “critic-proof.” Sometimes, all people want is a good laugh—and this film delivers just that.
