5.5 Lakh Mosques Echo One Message: Stand United Against Terrorism

NDC DESK

In a powerful show of unity, leading Muslim organizations across India have condemned the recent terror attack in Pahalgam, where innocent tourists fell victim to mindless violence. Over 5.5 lakh mosques will now deliver a single message this Friday to denounce terrorism and pray for the victims.

India’s mosques are responding not with political noise or public protests, but through the quiet, steady power of Friday prayers. This spiritual stand is being led by major Muslim bodies that denounced terrorism unequivocally, and want to do so in the sacred space where messages matter most.

“The message of Islam is peace,” they declared, “and those who kill innocents violate not only the laws of the land but the tenets of faith.”Maulana Arshad Madani, President of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, condemned the attackers as “beasts,” expressing deep sorrow.

Imam Umer Ahmed Ilyasi, Chief Imam of the All India Imam Organisation, announced that imams across India would deliver sermons denouncing terrorism. “Killing innocents in the name of religion is against Islam and against humanity,” he said, urging the government not to bury terrorists on Indian soil.

Dr. SQR Ilyas National Convenor of the Majlis-e-Amal under the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), said the board will pause its protest against the Waqf law for three days in solidarity with victims’ families.

Syed Sadatullah Husaini of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind expressed outrage and called for unity and swift justice.
The Jamiat president Maulana Arshad Madani added, “The fact that mosques from Kashmir to Delhi are condemning this shows that the people want peace. These gestures defeat terrorism.”

This collective response from Muslim leaders and organizations underscores a clear message: terrorism has no place in Islam, and the community stands united against such acts of violence.
The Friday Khutbah is not a press tool. It’s a sacred voice. To use it to reaffirm India’s secular spirit, to call for peace not out of fear but out of faith, is both bold and beautiful.

A million minarets will echo that call of solidarity and Indians across the nation await to hear the echoing of that one message.
