In a remarkable archaeological revelation , a 500-year-old Shiva temple has been unearthed in Patna, Bihar’s capital city. The temple, located in Ward No. 54, was found beneath what was long considered a garbage dump. The site, believed to be land once associated with a monastery, has revealed a rich historical and spiritual treasure, sparking immense excitement further elevating the significance of this discovery.
This temple was discovered when officials went on to clear a dumping yard as a part of encroachment drive in Narayan Babu street,Alamganj . Upon clearing debris , a hidden structure was uncovered . Two unique footprints and a Shivaling was found after the locals themselves undertook initial excavations
As soon as the news of discovery spread across the locality, hundreds of devotees started gathering near the place with many started worshipping the ‘Shivlinga’. The devotees offered flowers ,milk and sweets at the site .The locality soon reverberated with the joyful cheers of “Har Har Mahahdev”.
The temple’s design, features a shiny black stonework. As the cleanup progressed, the atmosphere devotees gathered with chants of ‘Har Har Mahadev’ resonating through the area. The site quickly transformed into a hub of worship.
The Shiva idol placed inside the sanctorum was said to be made of “Ashtadhatu”. It is being speculated that the temple belongs to 15th century.
