IndiGo Goa-Delhi Flight Makes Emergency Landing After Mid-Air Engine Failure

NEW DELHI — An IndiGo flight traveling from Goa to Delhi was forced to make an emergency landing after experiencing a mid-air technical snag involving an engine failure. The aircraft landed safely, and all passengers and crew members on board were reported safe.

Quick Reaction Mid-Air

The flight was en route to Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi when the pilots detected a sudden technical abnormality in one of the aircraft’s engines. Following standard safety protocols, the flight crew immediately declared an emergency and requested priority landing clearance from Air Traffic Control (ATC).

The pilots managed the single-engine operation efficiently, executing a smooth touchdown without further incident. Emergency response teams, including fire engines and medical personnel, were deployed on standby at the runway as a precautionary measure.

Passenger Safety Confirmed

An IndiGo spokesperson confirmed the incident, emphasizing that passenger safety remains the airline’s highest priority.

“IndiGo flight operating from Goa to Delhi experienced a technical glitch in one of its engines during flight. The crew followed all prescribed operational procedures and landed safely. All passengers were safely disembarked, and alternative arrangements were promptly arranged,” the airline stated in an official release.

Investigation Underway

The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has initiated a preliminary inquiry into the incident to determine the exact cause of the engine malfunction. Technical teams are inspecting the aircraft, and detailed reports will be reviewed to ensure full compliance with aviation safety standards.
