After the unexpected defeat in the Haryana assembly polls , Congress appoints Veteran Politician B K Hariprasad , an Other Backward Castes leader, as incharge of Haryana state .
This appointment of B K Hariprasad was done after a 3 month long introspection within the leadership in Delhi. Congress realised that their entire campaign failed and BJP came to power majorly because they frequently projected the incumbent Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini’s background as an OBC leader, where as Congress only focused targeting BJP on farmers issues, Agniveer Scheme , unemployment and inflation. But the mood of the voters was to see an OBC leadership in the state .
’QUEST WAVE’ one of the leading public opinion polling company specializing in political, public affairs, public policy research in India had submitted a clear report on the OBC caste leaders dearth in Congress, which the party failed to take a note of it . New Delhi Chronicle also mentioned these reasons as one of the factors for the party’s defeat in the exit polls .
Now , Congress seems to have done its home work and assigned the task of bringing the party back in line with the OBCs and Dalits , has appointed B K Hariprasad , an OBC veteran leader , to head party affairs in Haryana
B K Hariprasad , known as a no-nonsense politician , is also known for his organisational skills right from his student days . He has proven record of being a successful political campaigner . He also is a legislative council member from Karnataka state and a dedicated campaigner of Congress party since decades.
Haryana Congress cadre is now looking upon B K Hariprasad , an OBC leader , as a magic wielder to lead the party to victory in upcoming elections
