A photo from an autorickshaw shared by Anya, a social media user, has a hilariously stern warning: “No romance. This is a cab, not your private place or OYO, so please keep distance and stay calm. Give respect, take respect. Thank you.” Leaving no room for misinterpretation, the poster also has a symbol of red -crossed – out heart beneath the write-up.
Seems like the auto driver from Meerut, who was influenced by OYO’s new “no unmarried couples” policy, has decided to take matters into his own hands, and literally posted a signage in his vehicle. Lovebirds in Meerut will henceforth be grounded not just by OYO but by auto as well.
Internet is having a gala time with reactions pouring in. One of the users even commented, “How often does this happen for him to need a sign?” resonating the frustration the auto driver would have faced.
While another quips in saying, , “First OYO shuts doors on lovebirds, now autos too? Tough times for romance!”
Looks like Meerut’s establishments are collectively against Public Display of Affection(PDA) or is it a measure to prevent such acts.
However, one cannot overlook the impeccable timing of the post that coincided with OYO’s revised policy in Meerut that demands proof of relationships before granting check-ins to couples.
Meeru’s lovebirds are now in a dire challenging situation and may have to find more creative ways that are less public to express their affections.
The firm and humorous sign by the auto driver has undoubtedly made him a sensation by being a reason for a good laugh and is being appreciated for the order he has tried to put in.
Appears like, in Meerut, love may be in the air, but it’s certainly not in the autos—or the OYOs!
