Neena Gupta joins the cast of ‘THE INTERN ‘

Comedy drama , “The Intern” announced is yet another production venture of Deepika Padukone starring Amitabh Bachchan in lead .Her “KA Production” has collaborated with Warner Bros India for the venture. Deepika Padukone turned producer again after chhapaak in the Hindi remake of “The Intern’

Deepika says that “The Intern’ is an intimate, relationship-driven film, set in and around the workplace; a story that I believe is very relevant to the present-day social and cultural environment. I have been looking for a light, breezy comedy-drama and this story fits in seamlessly. I cannot wait to begin this journey.”

This is the second production by Deepika Padukone after Chhapaak (2020) in which she starred as an acid attack survivor.The remake was originally planned to release in 2021, due to the pandemic the release schedule is postponed to 2022
Interestingly, Big B was not originally a part of the film, In January 2020, Rishi Kapoor had announced that he is all set to begin a new journey with ‘The Intern’ remake in Hindi. Speaking about the film, Rishi Kapoor had told PTI, “‘The Intern’ is a very relevant film for the present-day Indian workplace milieu and it showcases human relationships beautifully. I am very excited to be working with Deepika and being a part of this heart-warming story.” However, with Rishi Kapoor’s sudden demise on April 30, the film was left without its lead star, before Amitabh Bachchan stepped in to play the part.
Deepika took to Twitter to welcome Big B,writes ““What an absolute honour to be collaborating with one of my most special co-star again!💛 Welcoming @amitabhbachchan to the Indian adaptation of #TheIntern.”
In the Hollywood version, Stalwart Robert De Niro essayed the role of a widower, who is not very enthusiastic about his retirement, and returns to work as an intern at an online fashion site. Oscar Award-winning actress Anne Hathaway portrayed the character of his workaholic boss. The film chronicles Robert’s warm relationship with his co-workers and how he plays a father figure to Anne’s character, who is going through a troubled marriage.
The Intern’s Hindi remake, starring Deepika Padukone , Amitabh Bachchan and Neena Gupta, is scheduled to hit the screens in the summer of 2022.
The film will be directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, with the adapted screenplay and dialogues by Akshat Ghildial and Mitesh Shah.
